Gear Review: Big Bite Baits Swimming Craw Tube

What is it?

Big Bite Baits Swimming Craw Tube

What sets it apart?

Big Bite took the popular Craw Tube form and gave it a little nip/tuck to create a new bait with attractive features from the original design bolstered with some new equipment. Essentially, Big Bite removed the slender pincher arms and replaced them with broad, flapping pinchers that generate a load of motion. Whether it’s a falling motion or an actual swimming technique, this bait puts a lot of motion in the water.

How do I use it?

Complementing the hard kicking/swimming action created by those flapping claws, this bait’s ribbed body and long tentacles push water and provide a subtle lifelike action when the bait is not in motion. Big Bite Baits infuses its soft, yet durable plastic with its signature Bite Juice Scent, which not only serves to entice more bites, it make fish hold on longer so you have more time to set the hook. Available in 15 colors.

Angler’s insight:

Prespawn searching seems like a good time for the Swimming Craw Tube. From covering water with it on the back of a swim jig or Texas rigged for a more streamlined package, those flapping pinchers should put on the kind of show that earns a front-row seat to bass breath. This bait will also serve well your laydown flipping efforts, especially when you want a lot of action to entice those aggressive fish. I’d also like to see how this bait does on a football jig or Carolina rig.
