Gear Review: Bass Mafia Daingerous Swimbait

WHAT IS IT?

Bass Mafia Daingerous Swimbait

WHAT SETS IT APART?

The triangular F-22 inspired body and flattened underbelly adds stability to reduce rolling during the retrieve, while keeping the body upright. Adorned with lifelike fish anatomy from head to tail, the custom paddle tail entices reaction strikes while maximizing water displacement for added strike appeal. The unrigged bait has dual hook slots to maximize rigging options, while the split dorsal fin design allows the addition of a stinger hook. Forward-looking eyeballs entice strikes from all directions, and hand-painted colors complete the lifelike package, from appearance to action. Available in 6- and 7-inch models. Colors: Albino, Blueback Herring, Blackback Shad, Chartreuse Shad, Texas Herring.

HOW DO I USE IT?

You get multiple rigging options with the same swimbait to target specific water columns. Rig it standard with weighted hooks, or add a stinger hook to end short strikes and improve hook-up ratios. It’s all possible with the dual hook slots and split dorsal fin design.

HOW MUCH?

$13

ANGLER’S INSIGHT:

If one bait defines the angling personality of an angler, it’s the Bass Mafia Daingerous Swimbait designed by Bassmaster Elite Series pro Chris Zaldain. He’s a personal friend, and I know firsthand the design process underwent rigorous attention to detail, all of it from a California native whose youth spent there made him a student of the swimbait game. The results of his work are obvious in this swimbait that adds versatility to a lure that you can adapt to angling situations on the fly.
