Hobie Eddy Float sunglasses

WHAT SETS IT APART?

Made with integrated hinges, the Eddy Float comes RX ready, with lenses available in grey, copper or cobalt mirror polarized lens tints. Lenses are made with Hobie’s proprietary HydroClean 360 coatings, which promote optimal optical clarity and complete protection through dual-coated layers that repel water and prevent sweat and sunscreen buildup. The process comprises Hobie’s polarized film technology bolstered by a series of enhanced hydrophobic and anti-reflective coatings applied to each lens.

HOW DO I USE IT?

ICAST 2024 saw Hobie announce the expansion of its Floating Collection with a new style named the Eddy Float. A sharp, edgy design includes frameless lenses, a feature that helps achieve lightweight comfort. Complementing these polarized lenses that provide clarity and UV protection, the Eddy Float’s ultra-light nylon construction includes co-molded Megol rubber and comfort-grip rubber nose pads that ensure a secure and comfortable fit for a full day on the water.

ANGLER’S INSIGHT:

How many times have we seen anglers lean over to scoop a bass, only to feel their sunglasses slip off their face. Sure, we’re pretty much all using some type of straps, cords or bands, but stuff happens. Moreover, kayak anglers that leverage their smaller profile to access hidden backwaters often have to duck and dodge overgrown vegetation to reach the sweet spots. All it takes is one oddball branch to slip free and smack your hat and glasses right off your head. And if you’ve ever held little ones, you know how they love to grab and toss items with rattlesnake quickness. Examples are probably endless, but the bottom line is this: Hobie’s Floating Collection, including the New Eddy Float, will prevent these accidents from becoming costly wallet hits.
