WHAT SETS IT APART?
The Battery Tender WaveCharge Pro 40 is a premium on-board charging system designed to keep your boat’s batteries charged and ready for every trip. The four-bank model delivers a full 10 amps to each bank for up to 40 amps of total charging power, and Battery Tender also offers one-, two-, and three-bank versions for smaller setups.
Unlike many multi-bank chargers that share output between batteries, the WaveCharge Pro features four completely independent charging circuits. Each bank can charge a different battery at its own rate and even a different chemistry at the same time. Whether you’re running lead-acid, AGM, gel or LiFePO₄ lithium batteries — or a combination of them — the WaveCharge Pro handles each one individually. That makes it a great option for anglers who use lithium trolling motor batteries alongside an AGM cranking battery and want one charger that can do it all.
The charger also uses a smart four-stage charging process that automatically checks battery health, delivers a rapid bulk charge, tapers the charge as the battery nears full capacity and then switches to maintenance mode to safely keep batteries topped off without overcharging. Automatic temperature compensation helps ensure proper charging in both hot summer conditions and cooler weather.
Built for the marine environment, the WaveCharge Pro features a fully sealed IP68-rated housing along with UL Marine Ignition Protection, making it safe for installation in enclosed battery and engine compartments where fuel vapors may be present.
HOW DO I USE IT?
The WaveCharge Pro is straightforward to install and operate. With a few basic tools, installation can be completed in less than an hour. Simply connect the included positive and negative ring terminals to each battery, mount the charger securely in your battery compartment, plug it into shore power and use the single control button to select the battery chemistry for each bank. From there, the charger automatically manages each battery independently.

One of the first things I noticed was the compact size. Many four-bank chargers with this much charging power are considerably larger, but the WaveCharge Pro takes up very little space in the battery compartment while still delivering a full 10 amps to each battery.
Performance has been outstanding. After long tournament practice days with the trolling motor on high for hours, I’ve been able to plug the charger in at night and wake up to fully charged batteries the next morning.
