Rather than simply telling you the fishing “should be good,” it explains where fish are most likely to be, why they’ll be there and how to catch them. The app combines years of tournament-winning patterns with live environmental data like water clarity, wind, current generation, inflows, lake levels, weather and wave conditions to build a game plan specific to the lake and conditions you’re fishing.
One of my favorite features is the collection of map layers. The Water Clarity Map shows where cleaner or dirtier water exists across a lake, while the Best Areas and Proven Patterns maps highlight productive sections based on historical tournament success. Rather than spending hours piecing together information from several different websites, DeepDive puts everything into one easy-to-use platform.
The bait recommendations are another standout feature. After selecting the season and current conditions, the app recommends lure styles, colors, depths and presentations that have historically produced under similar circumstances. It’s not meant to replace time on the water or your own instincts, but it can dramatically shorten the learning curve on unfamiliar fisheries.
HOW DO I USE IT?
I’m starting to look at the DeepDive App a day or two before every trip to help build a game plan. Where I fish on the Coosa and Tennessee rivers, current flow dictates so many variables, so the Generation Releases feature is the first place I go. It shows past, current and predicted generation schedules for both incoming and outgoing water. That helps me visualize when current will be moving, what areas of the lake should set up best and where I should spend my time.
When I’m heading to a new lake, I immediately open the Best Areas Map and Proven Patterns Map. They give me a quick overview of where to begin and what fish are typically doing during that time of year. The app highlights productive sections of the lake, and when you tap on an area, it recommends patterns, key structure and even the baits that have historically performed best there. If I’ve never seen a lake before, it’s a huge confidence booster because I’m not launching completely blind.
One area where DeepDive really impressed me is its environmental mapping tools. The Water Clarity Map, Wave Impacts Map and Streamflow Map let me look at a fishery in a completely different way. Wind, current and water color all influence where bass position, and these maps make it easy to visualize those changes before ever making a cast. Instead of guessing what the water looks like in the back of a creek, I can instantly see which areas are cleaner, dirtier or changing. It’s not uncommon for neighboring creeks to have completely different water colors, and this makes those differences obvious.
My two favorite features are the Wave Impacts Map and the Streamflow Map. The Wave Impacts Map shows exactly how wind and waves affect every part of the lake. Whether I’m looking for wind-blown points that should hold active fish or protected water when conditions get rough, it quickly shows me where to focus. Better yet, it doesn’t just show current conditions. A timeline lets me look back two days and forecast seven days ahead, making it easy to plan for changing conditions before I ever leave the house.
The Streamflow Map is another standout. It’s excellent for finding small run-ins and current seams that can be difficult to identify even with satellite imagery. Not only does it show where each inflow enters the lake, but the color coding also indicates flow volume. With one click, I can see exactly how much water is moving through each inflow. Those subtle current spots often hold fish, and this tool lets me narrow down the most promising ones in just a few minutes.
The biggest thing I’ve noticed is that DeepDive doesn’t make decisions for me — it simply gets me to the right areas faster, leaving more time to figure out the fish instead of spending half the day searching.
