Gear Review: Denali Attax Pro Bass Rods

WHAT IS IT?

Denali Attax Pro Bass Rods

WHAT SETS IT APART?

The original Attax series has long been a cornerstone of Denali’s bass rod lineup. Now, the company has introduced the Attax Pro series, a family of redesigned models blending eye-pleasing aesthetics with solid functionality. A blacked-out design with updated graphics starts with an IM7 graphite blank and includes quality components such as Duraloc guides, carbon fiber handles, EVA foam split grip and Denali’s proprietary split grip reel seat.

HOW DO I USE IT?

Denali designed the new AttaX Pro rods up to 20% lighter (depending on model) than their predecessors — an improvement that makes the rods agile and more easily handled. Blanks have been retooled for crisper actions and precise delivery. The 15-model lineup includes three spinning rods and a dozen casting rods. All 7-footers, the spinning rods include two mediums and one medium-heavy rod, while the casting rods range from 6-10 to 7-10, with medium, medium-heavy, heavy and extra-heavy models.

ANGLER’S INSIGHT:

Denali’s new Attax rods immediately check the appearance box with a sleek form that’ll look sharp on any boat deck, but these rods are more than eye candy. The family-owned company based in North Central Arkansas’ Ozark country clearly has a good read on what anglers need in reliable fishing tackle — a point evidenced by the exposed blank reel seat, which promotes sensitivity by keeping the user in direct contact with the blank.
