B.A.S.S. Nation and Seaguar incentivize keeping waters clean

The B.A.S.S. Nation and Seaguar are uniting to help keep our waters clean.

Seaguar is proud to offer a conservation initiative to incentivize Nation anglers to collect used fishing line and soft plastic baits. The collected line/baits are then weighed at state-level Junior, High School, College or Adult tournaments or annual meetings.

Weights from each event are to be reported by the State President to Gene Gilliland, B.A.S.S. National Conservation Director. Each submission must be accompanied by a photograph of the line/baits on the scales to verify the weight. B.A.S.S. will keep a running total of pounds collected for each state chapter.

Collections can begin immediately with a submission deadline of Oct. 15, 2025.

Winners will be determined by total pounds per chapter member. All members within the state, including Junior, High School, College and Adult will be included for participation.

Example:

  • State A has 1,000 members and collects 1,000 pounds of used fishing line and baits for a total of 1 (one) pound per member
  • State B has a membership of 100 members and collects 500 pounds for a total of 5 (five) pounds per member.  State B would be the winner.

Seaguar will award the Top Three chapters, based on pounds per member, a $1,000 gift card to be redeemed on Seaguar.com.

Following each weigh-in, all line and baits must then be properly disposed of, or recycled if the chapter has a means to do so.

Seaguar will announce the winners at the B.A.S.S. Nation Championship, Oct. 22-25, 2025.
