Gear Review: Strike King Denny Brauer Baby Structure Jig

What is it?

Gear Review Strike King Denny Brauer Baby Structure Jig

What does it do?

It’s a finesse swim jig that works well in dense cover.

What sets it apart?

This is a scaled-down version of its incredibly effective big brother, and it’s perfect for fishing in extra-tight quarters and around lightly feeding fish. The uniqe Cobra-Head design was the brainchild of legendary pro angler Denny Brauer, and due to the head design, it easily slides through cover or skips beneath docks. It is available in 1/4- and 3/8-ounce sizes and six colors.

How do I use it?

This jig can be worked along bottom, around brush or rocks, but it also works well as a swim jig above the cover. The unique head shape also makes it ideal for skipping. By dressing it up with a small chunk or craw, the Baby Structure Jig works hard for bites and adequately stays out of snags.

Editor insight:

A jig is not just a jig… The Structure Jig series are fantastic lures and highly versatile. I learned to skip docks with this thing, and I promise it’ll work for you, too. A jig that can be worked in the traditional sense, then on the next cast as a swim jig speaks to its ability to cover multiple scenarios. You won’t be disappointed with it at all!
