WHAT IS IT?
Daiwa Kage SV TW 150 Baitcaster
WHAT SETS IT APART?
Available in right- and left-hand models, both in 7.1:1 and 8.1:1 gear rations, the reel features premium cork handles that bolster the 90 mm swept handle design to ensure comfort and dependable grip. Built with a distortion-proof aluminum frame, the new Daiwa Kage reel includes Hyperdrive Digigear, by which gear teeth more efficiently transfer power for a smooth, quiet operation. Other key features include Hyperdrive Tough Clutch, Advanced Tournament Drag, Zero Adjuster (preset spool tension reduces backlash when casting into the wind, or throwing small lures), and Daiwa’s T-Wing System, which reduces friction on the cast and precisely manages line on the retrieve.
HOW DO I USE IT?
Debuting as the first baitcaster in Daiwa’s Kage family, the palmable SV TW 150 features an Stress-Free, Versatile (SV) 34 mm A7075 aircraft grade spool, which interacts with the braking system for maximum casting control and distance. Also, Daiwa brought its HYPERDRIVEDesign (once reserved for high-end models) to this moderately-priced reel. Engineered to improve performance and durability, SV TW 150 bears the sleek red accents common to the KAGE collection, along with its performance-focused technologies.

ANGLER’S INSIGHT:
Fitting the KAGE SV TW 150 with corrosion-resistant ball bearings (CRBB), Daiwa fortified this reel for both freshwater and saltwater use. Bass anglers plying their craft on tidal fisheries may pick up traces of salt in the brackish boundaries, typically a potential maintenance issue for purely freshwater focused reels. On the more extreme side, most know that bass and redfish anglers can pretty much swap tackleboxes with favorable results. From the Florida Everglades to Louisiana’s Mississippi Delta, the dual-purpose KAGE SV TW 150 allows you to fish the sweet water for largemouth, then hit the outer bays and islands for redfish without switching your casting gear.
