The Bassmaster Classic has the ability to give the winner's career respect, longevity as well as recognition. The same can be said for the winning baits. A win at the Classic might be considered the ultimate in advertising for a lure company, as thousands of anglers will immediately pony up for the lure that won $500,000. Skeet Reese and Boyd Duckett both used a Berkley Chigger Craw in their respective wins, and the little crawfish imitator is now a staple in many anglers' tackleboxes. More recently, Kevin VanDam put Strike King's Red Eye Shad and KVD 1.5 crankbaits on the map - and into thousands of anglers' hands - when he used them in his 2010 and 2011 Classic wins. There are favorite anglers in this year's Classic field - like Mike McClelland, above - and there are also favorite baits. Here is a list of likely winning candidates.
