Palmer’s giant Semifinal Sunday catch

Oklahoma’s Luke Palmer had a great morning on Day 3 of the Guaranteed Rate Bassmaster Elite at Santee Cooper Lakes, so we made the run across the lake to find him buried back amongst the cypress trees.
Once we arrived, Palmer let us know he had roughly 27 pounds in the box.
Palmer was all smiles this afternoon.
In an area no bigger than a football field, Palmer was making a circle around high percentage trees.
Palmer was using his forward-facing sonar to scan the roots of the trees.
Naturally, with 27 pounds in the livewell, Palmer felt pretty good about his day, so he decided to fish an area that he had yet to fish during the event. This paid off in a big way as he hooked up with an absolute giant.
This mammoth of a bass weighed over nine pounds!
With this massive upgrade, Palmer culled up to roughly 33 pounds.
