Dunns Creek is all about the current. With that said, Mullins is targeting anything that breaks the current such as trees, lay downs, undercut banks and lily pads.

As Cliff Prince and Drew Benton analyzed on Bassmaster LIVE Mix, the bass will spawn in the small pockets like the one in this photo. It allows the fish to get out of the current, and they don’t have to go far. “These fish only move about five feet when they decide to spawn,” said Prince.

Mullins rotated a few different baits, but stayed pretty consistent with the vibrating jig. A lot of his bites would come right on the bank, which may indicate it was a spawning fish. When Mullins would miss a fish, he would follow up with a Texas rig.
