Luke Clausen’s good deed for the day. Although fishing has been a grind, while looking for the fifth keeper of the day, Luke frees a bird from a fishing line.

Wow another 4-pound cull for Marty Robinson

Look at what Scott Rook found at the Rez. Maybe it’s his lucky charm.

A grind. Fishing around legends such as Randall Tharp, Timmy Horten, and Greg Hackney (with others in and out) makes it mentally tough when your engine is broke down and your stuck on three fish.
What do you do in that situation? You put your head down and fish. You try and put the legends out of your head….you keep your game face on…and you just FISH!

The move to this area has paid off for Prince. Four keepers in less than an hour. Now that he has a limit, “it’s time to run to where the big ones live”.

First keeper for Alton Jones Jr. A little over a pound. A long time coming.

After a slow start, things picked up in a hurry for Dave. The first few bites of the morning were swings and misses… He’s boxed a limit and now he’s on the hunt for a big one.

Prince makes a 5 minute run across the lake and a long idle back into a creek. He commented the water is much more muddy than when he was in here during practice. He believes last nights rain is the cause.

When asked if his legs were cold Prince replied “I want to put some pants on so bad but don’t want to take the time to do it.”

Randall Tharp has been persistent, staying with his plan. He commented that he really felt good about where he is fishing and with the current conditions. Then he sets the hook on this nice 4-pounder. He has swapped between rods but continues to go back to his original game plan.

First keeper, 2-pounder. One short and a few misses up to this point.

The fish is long enough for Kelly Jordon, 2 1/2-pounds but his scale shows 2-pounds.

Scott Rook can quit holding his breath now. No. 5 is real nice one.

First stop, cloudy with a light mist, Chad Pipkens landed his first surface bite in a pinch point between some lily’s upriver. Solid pound and quarter is in the well!

Alton’s third keeper is a weaker if he had caught it a week earlier it wouldn’t have been a keeper. 1lb 12oz.

A front moved through just after dark last night making the water a little dirtier than usual in places. It’s cloudy and overcast with a nice breeze out of the WNW and cooler than it has been, although the water temperature is roughly the same. Should clear up later in the morning.
