This shallow canal is full of grass and man-made structures, making it a perfect place for bass to set up on beds.

Hartman is flipping into these beds while being very still and quiet with his movements. The water is clear, and the fish are easily spooked.

We even saw 2 buzzards fighting over a turtle, only a few feet away from a bed Hartman was fishing.

Hartman continues to fish out of this canal, spotting several bass on beds but having trouble getting the females to bite.

This fish was just over 4 pounds and puts Hartman into the Top 10 on BassTrakk.

After a few more casts, the day is growing shorter and it’s time for Hartman to make a move to find some big fish. He is currently in the Top 10, but it will take some bigger fish in his livewell to secure his spot.
