Starks gets rigged back up and back to fishing. He had a good early start to his day, with four keeper fish in the live well in the first hour.

It is a rare sight to see Paul Elias with a spinning rod in hand.

Elias said he had broken off several times on the hook set, but had managed to put a limit in the boat.

During the practice period Elias said he found several large smallmouth bass in the area he was fishing.

Saturday morning started with a thick fog and Clark Reehm sitting on a point changing lures.

Greg Vinson, Day One leader, hooks up early.

He gets the fish close to the boat.

And quickly pulls in his first keeper.

The fish weighed around 1 ¾ pounds.

Vinson shows it to the Bassmaster TV camera and deposits it into the livewell.

Vinson is soon back to casting.

And he hooks up again.

He quickly gets it to the side of the boat.

Vinson works a point. His Day One lead was helped immensely by two 4-pound class fish.

In short order, he hooks up with his third fish of the day.

This one he skies across the top of the water.

Itâs a keeper that produces a fight at the side of the boat.

John Murray looks hard for spawning fish.

Combs brings in the short fish, but it quickly goes back into the lake.

Murray said in practice fish were all over the banks, but the cold weather had pushed them back.
