<b>1:20 p.m.</b> - Christie’s biggest bass of the day, 2 pounds, 4 ounces, hit his signature Yum Christie Critter on the outside edge of a boathouse complex.<br><br> “August bass fishing can be slow during stable weather conditions, and that little cold front certainly didn’t helped me any today,” Christie told Bassmaster. “This lake has acres of awesome-looking pad cover, but I couldn’t catch any quality bass from pads. I was really expecting to whack at least one big fish on a frog, but it just didn’t happen. I noticed that practically every fish I caught was suspended, either under pads or under a dock, and when they’re suspending, they’re not actively feeding and can be real hard to catch. If I were to fish here tomorrow under the same conditions, I’d probably move out deeper and try to find some offshore structure that isn’t loaded with that stinky grass.”
