Just incredible what happened with Greg Hackney. He pulled into another gear, landing an absolute giant and culling with a 4-pounder right after. The giant required him hand lining it in after a reel malfunction. I can estimate the fish close to double digits.

He's been working hard to get through smaller bites in hopes of the bigger ones turning on as has happened with his last fish. A solid 2 1/2-pounder r to hopefully kickstart the bigger bites. He needs to cull desperately if he wants a shot at the Top 12.

Hackney has been fishing with large groups of locals moving in and out of his primary area this week. Despite that he's persevered by just plain out fishing them. A young boy, about 9 years old, just caught a fish of a lifetime. Hackney was happy for him as he's now hooked for life. Just after Hackney watches the young man catch a big one and has a fellow competitor come in his area, he decides to go

Fritts has defied the norm this week and it has shown at the scales. While the majority of the field has spent much of their time concentrated in the same general area, he has been able to find something vastly different and bring in good weights every day.
