In Jack’s Creek with Mosley, Livesay

Follow Brock Mosley and Lee Livesay on Day 1 of the Guaranteed Rate Bassmaster Elite at Santee Cooper Lakes

It was a foggy start to Day 1 of the Guaranteed Rate Bassmaster Elite Series at Santee Cooper Lakes. We began our morning in Jack’s Creek, a very popular area in Lake Marion.
A slew of boats began in Jack’s Creek, but Brock Mosley was one of the first competitors we caught up with.
Although Mosley is historically a power fisherman, he utilized a spinning rod for the first part of the morning – a popular choice on Santee Cooper Lakes.
Boats came and went during the early part of the morning.
A closer look at the base of the cypress trees that Mosley focused on. The water is lower than full pool on Lake Marion, as seen in by the water line of the tree.
Out of the jungle comes Lee Livesay.
Livesay was chunking and winding early this morning, not spending too much time on each tree.
Moments later, Mosley hooks up with his first keeper of the morning.
This fish goes in as a three pounder on BassTrakk – a solid start for the Mississippi pro.
After boating his first keeper, Mosley fishes out the rest of the area, rotating through different baits.
Livesay and Mosley chat it up in the jungle of cypress trees. After watching Mosley catch his first keeper on a spinning rod, Livesay jokes that he decided to pick his spinning rod too.
After plowing his way through the trees, Livesay boats his first keeper in the morning.
Once the sun popped out, it was like a light switch turned on. Both anglers got on a little bit of a roll.
Mosley’s second fish of the morning is another three-pounder.
As Mosley is fighting his second keeper, Livesay also hooked up at the same time.
Livesay’s second keeper of the day is a good one.
