College: Day 2 takeoff

Morning comes early for everyone at a B.A.S.S. event. Officials Hank Weldon and Jon Stewart are ready though, and began setting up equipment before hundreds of fans and boats began arriving at Paris Landing State Park Marina on Friday to watch the take-off in the Carhartt Bassmaster College Series Bracket presented by Bass Pro Shops.

All boaters will have to pass through this point before taking off.

Kansas State angler Kyle Alsop, the No 1 seed in this event, was the first of the four remaining anglers to line up Friday morning.

Alsop spots cameraman Wes MIller on the dock.

And helps him get his gear onboard.

Bivins tends to be aware of the camera, which is cool.

Bethel Universityâs John Garrett was the only angler on Thursday to catch a limit. Heâs hoping he can do that again on Friday in the bracket semifinals.

And Garrett gets miked up for the television cameras.

Someone brought homemade blueberry muffins for the anglers to enjoy.

Look there! Itâs Bethel University angler Brian Pahl with the tasty pastry. Pahl was one of eight anglers in the bracket championship, but didnât advance past Thursdayâs opening round.

Texas State angler Evan Coleman ran all over Kentucky Lake on Thursday, and said he was beat on Friday morning.

He still had enough energy to crack a few smiles and talk with fans lined up on the docks.

Coleman hadnât fished Kentucky Lake before practice in this event, but heâs in the Final Four, nevertheless.

The crowd on Friday morning may have been larger than the giant one that turned out on Thursdayâs opening day of the college bracket tournament and the high school championship.

All eyes will be on Garrett today. He is intimately familiar with Kentucky Lake, as a student at nearby Bethel University. Can his knowledge of this body of water get him into Saturdayâs final?
