Bassmaster.com writer Steve Wright interviews Andrew Upshaw, who arrived at the JM Associates office for the weigh-in thinking he had failed after catching only two fish.

Ryan Watkins tries to relax in the boat as he awaits the weigh-in.

In a made-for-TV weigh-in at the JM studio, Watkins gets a warm welcome as he is introduced.

Watkins talks about his day fishing for a Classic berth against his college partner from Stephen F. Austin University. He said he “left it all out on the lake,” giving it his best despite weighing in 2 pounds, 10 ounces.

Upshaw gets the same welcome from the fans, which included his father, aunt, uncle and girlfriend.

Upshaw is overcome with emotion as Watkins applauds his friend, who is now going to the Bassmaster Classic.

The fishing partners and friends for the past five years share an emotional hug. Asked how his day was, Upshaw said, âIt was horrible.â

Upshaws fans (from left) included his father, Larry, uncle Billy Limerick and girlfriend Haley Hoskins.

Larry Upshaw first goes to hug Watkins.

Hoskins gets her turn.

Tommy Sanders prepares for a sitdown interview with Upshaw. College B.A.S.S. shows will appear on ESPN2.
