The 9th Annual Reeling in Future Pros Kids Fishing Camp was held at Lake Guntersville on Saturday, May 28. The event put on by Chris Lane Fishing and was geared towards getting kids involved in fishing and providing them all the supplies they need.

Over the years thousands of kids have experienced the camp, which had its beginnings in Lakeland, Fla., before moving to Guntersville, Ala.

This year’s event marked the combination of the camp with the second annual Foodland Bass Tournament, a 200 boat team event which launches at first light.

Stylists from Great Clips volunteered their time to cut hair. All donations went towards the athletic programs at Guntersville and Boaz high schools.

The campers had the opportunity to learn boating safety and tour the lake with Bassmaster Elite Series pro Matt Lee.

The tournament winners Bryan Gregory and Marshall Deakins weighed in three fish for 20.92 and won $10,000.

The Guntersville Middle School Cheerleading team kept the spirits high while raising money through a baked goods sales. The Foodland Bass Tournament raised $3,400 for the Guntersville and Boaz High School fishing teams.
