Afternoon on Chickamauga

Take a look Joseph Webster and other Elites afternoon down the lake on Day 1 of Guaranteed Rate Bassmaster Elite at Chickamauga Lake

Elite rookie Joseph Webster broke into the Top 10 on day one of the Chickamauga event, and we tracked him down in the back of a cove off the main lake.
Webster was fishing the shallows, targting fish that were on or around beds.
Webster ha d a full complement of rods on his fromt deck, and he would alternate between them as he workd down the bank.
He hooked up with a small bass that didn’t help, but it proved bass were in the area.
Pat Schlapper made a splash on Day 1 of the Guaranteed Rate Bassmaster Elite at Chickamauga Lake by boating a fish that went into BassTrakk as a 10 pounder.
The Wisconsin native was fishing more tradional prespawn areas just off of the main river.
At this time, Schlapper only had four fish in the boat. Shortly after our arrival, he hooked up.
Unfortunately, this fish would quite make the 15-inch minimum limit.
Schlapper got a few bites down this stretch, so he fired his Yamaha up and hit the stretch again.
No luck on his second pass through.
One consistant through Day 1 was that where there was one boat, there was usually several.
Shlapper makes a short run back up the river in hopes to find his fifth keeper.
Again, no luck for Schlapper after making the short move. This prompted him to make a long run back up lake to find his fifth keeper.
Another angler who was having a solid morning was Oklahoma’s Luke Palmer.
Palmer said he has a few different patterns, but at the time was fishing boat docks. No luck in this pocket, so he also opted to make a long run back up lake.
