2011 Bassmaster JWC contenders

These teens will compete for the top prize in youth bass fishing competition, Nov. 5, in a Louisiana bayou.

<p> Bass fishing is a sport for all ages, and teenagers will showcase their mad bass skills at the Bassmaster Junior World Championship (JWC), Nov. 5, on Bayou DeSiard in Monroe, La. Each angler has qualified to represent his region through Divisional Championships. The JWC is divided into two age groups, 11 to 14 and 15 to 18.</p>

<p> <strong>Tanner Boday - Inland Empire Junior Bassmasters</strong></p> <p> Tanner Boday will be making the long trip from the Northwest to the Southeast to fish the JWC. The Washington resident is a member of the Inland Empire Junior Bassmasters, and he’ll fish for the West in the younger age group.</p>

<p> <strong>Austin Bray - McPherson Junior Bassmasters in Kansas</strong></p> <p> Austin Bray, 15, is a member of the McPherson Junior Bassmasters in Kansas. He’ll be representing the Central Division in the younger age bracket. He’s a big fan of baseball.</p> <p>  </p>

<p> <strong>Matthew Cipriano - Connecticut Bass Lightning club</strong></p> <p> Matthew Cipriano of Connecticut is a member of the Bass Lightning club. The 16-year-old loves hunting and trap shooting. He will be fishing for the Eastern Division in the older age group.</p>

<p> <strong>Hunter Colwell - Ohio S.S. Minnows</strong></p> <p> Hunter Colwell, 16, enjoys hunting and golf. He’ll be putting his bass fishing to the test at the JWC against the competitors in the older age bracket. Colwell is a member of the S.S. Minnows, and the Ohioan will represent the Northern Division.</p>

He’s a member of the Winner Junior Bassmasters in Winner, S.D., and if the name follows him throughout the JWC, he’ll take home the trophy for the Northern Division in the younger age group. When Farner isn’t fishing, he’s hunting, wrestling, or playing baseball or football.</p>

<p> <strong>James C. Graves III - Orange County High School Anglers club</strong></p> <p> James C. Graves III, 14, is a member of the Orange County High School Anglers club in Virginia. He’ll be fishing for the Mid-Atlantic Division in the younger age group. He’s a fan of many ball sports, including football, basketball and baseball, and he enjoys several outdoor activities too, such as golf, swimming, hiking and hunting.</p>

He fishes with the Jourdan River Bassmasters, and he’ll represent the Central Division in the older age bracket. Ladner is not only a hunter and an angler but also a musician; he’s the drummer for the Back Porch Band.</p>

He’s a member of the High Country junior bass club, and he’ll fish for the Western Division in the older age group.</p>

<p> <strong>Mark Morrison - Barrie Bassmasters</strong></p> <p> Mark Morrison, 15, is the only JWC contender hailing from Canada. The Barrie Bassmasters member lives in Ontario and loves hockey and mechanics. He will represent the Eastern Division in the younger age bracket.</p>

<p> <strong>Henry Schomaker - New River Junior Bassmasters</strong></p> <p> Henry Schomaker of West Virginia is hunter as well as a fan of basketball and soccer. He’s a member of the New River Junior Bassmasters. Schomaker, 16, will fish for the Mid-Atlantic Division in the older age group.</p>
