Dion Hibdon's final day tally of 11 pounds, 12 ounces was enough to give him a 1-ounce victory over B.A.S.S. Nation angler Dalton Bobo. Classic XXVII (27) was held Aug. 7-9, 1997, at Logan Martin Lake, Ala.

Bryan Kerchal, 23, of Newton, Ct., ignored the odds to become the only "amateur" to claim the coveted Bassmaster Classic champion title and the $50,000 prize that accompanied it. The 24th annual Classic was held July 28-30, 1994, in High Rock Lake, N.C.
