Ramada renews Bassmaster sponsorship

Ramada Worldwide will return in 2013 as an official Supporting Sponsor of the Bassmaster Elite Series, the highest level of competition on the Bassmaster Tournament Trail.

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. — Ramada Worldwide, part of the Wyndham Hotel Group family of lodging brands with 850 locations in more than 50 countries, will return in 2013 as an official Supporting Sponsor of the Bassmaster Elite Series, the highest level of competition on the Bassmaster Tournament Trail.

Ramada also signed on as the title sponsor of the third event of the Elite season. Now named the Ramada Quest, the competition will take place April 18-21 on Bull Shoals Lake out of Bull Shoals, Ark.

“Ramada is proud to be a sponsor of B.A.S.S. for the sixth year in a row,” said Mark Young, brand senior vice president of Ramada Worldwide. “We know B.A.S.S. members are the most avid fishing enthusiasts and we want them to know that we are here to take care of them for all their lodging needs.”

“Ramada Worldwide has been a B.A.S.S. supporter for years, so we especially value their continued commitment to the Elite Series,” said B.A.S.S. CEO Bruce Akin. “B.A.S.S. and Ramada have forged the type of strong partnership that allows both organizations to jump to the next level in accomplishing their goals — and then to reach higher.”

The Ramada Quest will mark a return to the fishery where Idaho’s Brandon Palaniuk won in April 2012 by a huge margin of more than 11 pounds over his nearest challenger, South Carolina’s Britt Myers. The 2013 Bull Shoals event will again be in mid-April, prime time for bass fishing. The Ramada Quest winner will claim a first-place prize of $100,000 and an instant qualification for the 2014 Bassmaster Classic. The entire 102-pro Elite Series field will be working for points that count in the season-long race to be the 2013 Toyota Bassmaster Angler of the Year and to qualify for the 2014 Classic.

Ramada will have a presence at all eight regular-season Elite events of 2013, beginning with the opener in Orange, Texas. That event, the Sabine River Challenge presented by STARK Cultural Venues, will be March 14-17 on the Sabine River System.  But before the Elite season begins, Ramada will be at the Feb. 22-24 Bassmaster Classic in Tulsa, Okla., with a big display at the Bassmaster Classic Outdoors Expo presented by Dick’s Sporting Goods inside the Tulsa Convention Center.

At the events, fishing fans can learn about a special discounted rate that Ramada is again offering to all B.A.S.S. members in 2013. The discount offers 20 percent off the best available rate at participating locations when members book at www.Ramada.com/bass

As part of the sponsorship, Ramada will also reach B.A.S.S. members through the pages of the B.A.S.S. flagship publication, Bassmaster Magazine, as well as in B.A.S.S. Times Magazine and online at Bassmaster.com.
