The B.A.S.S. Story Unplugged now available

The history of the birth of B.A.S.S. is well known. From Ray Scott’s “brainstorm in a rainstorm,” to the angel anglers that helped make his dreams a reality, the moments that cemented the fate of the Bass Anglers Sportsmen Society have become legendary. Bob Cobb, the first editor of Bassmaster Magazine, is a big reason these historical milestones are common knowledge in fishing circles. Cobb stood beside Scott for nearly three decades, recording and communicating the events that shaped not only the organization, but the entire bass fishing industry. However, there are a lot of stories that have never been told … until now.

For those bass fishing history buffs who want a backstage pass to never-before-heard stories of how competitive bass fishing began, and eventually thrived, Cobb’s new tell-all book, The B.A.S.S. Story Unplugged, is a must have.

The oversized coffee-table style book not only pays tribute to Ray Scott, who is responsible for the sport of modern-day competitive bass fishing, but also to the many people behind the scenes that shared the common passion of chasing little green fish, and educating the masses on how to successfully do the same.

Cobb, an inductee in the Bass Fishing Hall of Fame and the Freshwater Fishing Hall of Fame, fills 413 pages with stories and never-before-seen photos that illustrate the incredible impact B.A.S.S. had on conservation, communications and the evolution of the bass fishing industry.

Cobb will be selling autographed copies of the book in the B.A.S.S. Booth at the Bassmaster Classic Outdoors Expo presented by DICK’S Sporting Goods at the Knoxville Convention Center in Knoxville, Tenn., next week (March 15-17). The B.A.S.S. Story Unplugged is also available for purchase through Amazon and other online retailers.
