Much of Millwood’s 29,000 acres of water is flooded timber, which is exceptional cover for the lake’s abundant largemouth and spotted bass. Boat lanes afford safe travel through the timber. Located in Arkansas’ southwest Coastal Plain region, the birding is exceptional, with 333 different species sighted here. Millwood State Park features a marina, 110 campsites, plus hiking and biking trails. A Corps of Engineers’ recreational area has another 230 campsites, picnic areas, boat launching ramps and group picnic shelters. 870-898-2800
