DIY light post for a bassing kayak

Materials needed:
• 5- or 6-foot length of 1-inch-diameter translucent PEX pipe
• Suitable top “bulb” (I used an empty bubble bath bottle.)
• String of white LED lights (I used 6 feet of battery-powered Christmas lights.)
• Tape

Cut a notch in the PEX pipe to allow the string of lights to exit.

Slide the lights into the tube, doubling or tripling the string as necessary.

Reserve extra lights for the “bulb,” created with the empty bottle.

Slide the “bulb” onto the pipe, stuffing the string of lights inside.

Tape the battery holder/switch onto the pipe, leaving enough room at the bottom to securely fit the pipe in your rod holder. Slide the pipe into the preferred rod holder.
