B.A.S.S. has been made aware that a kayak angler registered for the upcoming Bassmaster Kayak Series event on Toledo Bend has gone missing. After the angler did not arrive at a designated meeting place on Sept. 24, his travel partner contacted authorities. The pair had been pre-practicing for the tournament scheduled for Sept. 27–28.
Texas Parks and Wildlife Department officers began a search and have since located the angler’s kayak. However, the angler has not yet been found. The search is ongoing, and TPWD is continuing its investigation.
Our thoughts and prayers are with the angler’s family, friends and fellow competitors during this difficult time. We remain in communication with TPWD and will provide updates as they become available from authorities.
