âPolarized sunglasses are important because not only do they remove surface glare and help us see into the water, but they protect our eyes as well. I built these sunglasses to have great polarization, UV protection and completely block the sun making it easier to see fish, edges and submerged cover to cast at. Not only do they have all the function, but they look cool in black, white and my trademark orange color, and they are affordable at around $20.â

âIf I could only have one soft plastic lure in my Nitro Z9, it would be a green pumpkin Berkley Havoc Pit Boss designed by Skeet Reese. This lure has the kind of action that is between a tube and a Chigger Craw, and it appeals to bass feeding on bluegill or crawdads. The Pit Bossâ unique shape means that I get solid hookups and lose very few fish. Plus, I can use it as a jig trailer if I need to.â

âTo go along with my favorite soft plastic creature, I would have to have the weight and hook to go with it. My favorite is the 3/8-ounce Eagle Claw tungsten worm weight and the 4/0 Eagle Claw TroKar TK130 Flippinâ Hook. The size of the weight is perfect for pitching and flippinâ, as well as penetrating sparse cover, and the hook is the best Iâve ever used, and absolutely the right size for the Pit Boss.â

âThese items really help me carry as many of my Abu Garcia rods and reel combos as I need without fear of tangling or damage. By keeping my Veracity rods in a rod glove, I can store twice as many rods in my rod locker and not worry about the line getting tangled or nicked, and when I travel the road, I always put the reel covers on my Revos so I donât have to worry about beating them up.â

âThis is the most versatile tool in my boat. The stainless steel clippers are sharp enough to cut braided line, have a small knife blade I can use for trimming baits and opening packages, a little poker for clearing paint from the eyes of jigheads and a small screwdriver on one end for tightening small screws. I keep several of these around, and some in the truck for rigging rods and as backups in case they get lost or eventually wear out from so much clipping.â
