These photos show the process for installing a console on the bow of a bass boat as well as cleaning up console connections.

This required drilling holes for the wiring and cables, securing the mounts for the units and installing transducers. While I was at it, I cleaned up the connections for the switches on the console and replaced all the breakers with new ones. <p>Then I discovered that I was getting insufficient voltage for my electronic units, despite my best efforts. For this installment, I mounted a Humminbird 1198c on the console and a 998c on the bow of my old bass boat. This required drilling holes for the wiring and cables, securing the mounts for the units and installing transducers. While I was at it, I cleaned up the connections for the switches on the console and replaced all the breakers with new ones.
Then I discovered that I was getting insufficient voltage for my electronic units, despite my best efforts. Here are the steps I took for the installation and how I overcame the voltage problem.
INSTALLING ELECTRONICS
The Humminbird 1198 c came with a template for drilling holes to secure the Side and Down Imaging transducer mount.
All screws to mount the transducer and the graph were included. I applied silicone to every hole and screw during the installation.

To get readers on plane, a second transducer must shoot through the hull. Humminbird sells one with everything needed for the installation.

The transducer must be mounted in the bilge near the transom on the running pad. Rough up the spot with coarse sandpaper first.

Mix the epoxy with the supplied wooden spatula. Then smear part of it on the area cleaned and sanded in the bilge.

Coat the bottom of the transducer with the rest of the epoxy to ensure it will get a good grip.

Push the transducer into the epoxy in the bilge and twist it back and forth to remove any air pockets.

I removed the windshield from the driver's console while installing the 1198c and its GPS antenna. I ran the wires through an existing hole.

I mounted the bow antenna on the floor of the front deck. I ran all wires and cables for the 998c under the deck.

I ran the transducer cable (bottom) and power wires for the Minn Kota through a hole in the inset for the foot control pedal inset.

The five breakers on my console were badly corroded. I replaced them with new ones.

I cleaned all connections for the switches with a cleaner made just for this purpose. I bought it at an auto parts store.

Because my work didn't get the voltage up to par, I simply hardwired the console unit to the starting battery and got enough juice.
