Gear Review: One3 Creed K Spinning Reel

What is it?

One3 Creed K Spinning Reel

What sets it apart?

One3, an offshoot of 13 Fishing, packs a lot of attractive features into a reel that retails for under $50. Evolve Soft Touch Knobs ensure a comfortably secure grip for working the big ones topside, while the Strong Arm one-piece aluminum handle provides precision tolerances to eliminate unwanted wiggle. And in the interest of eliminating lost fish due to drag inconsistencies, the Creed K employs a 6-disc drag system, while seven ball bearings (plus one for the Infinite Anti-Reverse) yield smooth functionality.

How do I use it?

With sizes 1000, 2000, 3000 and 4000, there’s a Creed K for just about any freshwater application. Each is built with a light composite frame and rotor, along with a fat bail wire made of high grade aluminum that promotes lightweight durability with no worry of bending. The 1000 and 2000 models have max drag capacity of 8 pounds, while the larger two models max out at 11 pounds. Each reel has a 5.2:1 gear ratio.

Angler’s insight:

The Creed K looks like a capable reel that you won’t mind holding for extended periods. One3 made sure strength was not sacrificed in the interest of optimal weight, so don’t hesitate to put this reel through the paces. We’re confident this reel will hold its own whether you’re cracking tubes for Great Lakes Smallies or pitching drop shots to bridge pilings or anything in between.
