Gear Review: Yeti Roadie 24

What is it?

Yeti Roadie 24

What sets it apart?

If you’ve ever owned a Yeti cooler, you know quality is always a top priority. You can spend less on a cooler, but you can’t really replace that bewildering feeling of opening your cooler three days later and there’s still ice in it. The Roadie 24 is a refinement on the popular Roadie 20. It features a better handle, it’s lighter and can hold more stuff.

How do I use it?

The great thing about this size cooler is that it can fit behind your car seat, and easily in your boat or kayak. Also, it doesn’t weigh a ton, even stuffed full of ice and drinks. Perhaps the biggest improvement is the latch system. These are easy to open one-handed, and the cooler still performs its work in a way that can best be described as wizardry. The previous model had a hard metal handle, and the company replaced it with a flexible cable with a hard plastic grip. It feels strong and gets out of your way when you need it to.
