Gear Review: Under Armour Fish Hunter Hybrid shirt

What is it?

Under Armour Fish Hunter Hybrid Shirt

What sets it apart?

Who said ladies can’t fish in style? Not Under Armour; in fact, the company known for outfitting athletes and active types presents an attractive long-sleeve top that’s equally at home on the boat or out for a casual evening. Fitted, but not squeezing, the Fish Hunter Hybrid combines a soft knit body with durable woven shoulder overlays. Notably, the Fish Hunter’s collar stands up nicely for the fishing excursions, but easily collapses for the flatter look she prefers for casual wear.

How do I use it?

Made with moisture wicking properties, this shirt keeps the wearer dry and fresh, while the Princess seams create a slimmer, more streamlined silhouette. Other features include rolled forward shoulder stitching, adjustable 2-button cuffs, front chest patch pockets and a shaped hem that enhances coverage without a bulky appearance. The sleeves lack the button tabs to secure rolled-up sleeves — a feature common to many fishing shirts — but that’s clearly a design decision intended to give the Fish Hunter Hybrid a more elegant look.

Angler’s insight:

I’m an observant guy, but I enlisted my wife’s analysis on this one. She found the combination of materials provided the right blend of comfort and durability — strength in the shoulders and arms, but a lighter fit elsewhere for plenty of flexibility. I’m gonna fill my shirt pockets with a lot more loose items than someone who brought a purse, so my wife said the chest pockets were just the right size for a lady’s preference.
