What is it?

Gill Race Fusion Jacket

What sets it apart?

Gill’s phrase: “Everything you need to win – not just compete,” bespeaks the level of analysis and planning that went into the development of this jacket. Gill says the goal was to create a durable, lightweight and waterproof jacket with complete freedom of movement complementing its comfort and protection. The Race Fusion supports that objective with a three-layer waterproof and breathable fabric, fully taped seams for a waterproof seal and a durable water repellent finish.

How do I use it?

With an outer fabric composition of 100 percent nylon and 100 perceent polyester mesh, this packable jacket features a three-layer hi-vis hood with a three-way volume adjustment system, hand warmer pockets protected by YKK Aquaguard water resistant zips, and internal fleece-lined cord channel for a secure, comfortable fit, quick dry brushed mesh collar lining, and adjustable outer cuff with polyurethane inner seals for watertight comfort. Angler’s insight:

Considering that Gill’s best known for the weather-resistant clothing and outerwear used by offshore racing teams, the company has a firm grip on what it takes to keep folks dry and warm — often in brutal conditions. Bass anglers will appreciate such battle-tested designs and materials like that cuff design which allows you to adjust the outer tightness, while maintaining a waterproof inner seal.
