Gear Review: AFTCO Vista

What is it?

AFTCO Vista

What sets it apart?

Stylish garments with solid functionality are treasured finds for folks who spend a lot of time outdoors. AFTCO nailed it with the Vista pullover. Made with comfortable AFTECH material, this mid-weight polyester microfleece garment blends sturdy construction with a comfortable fit. The quarter zip design makes for easy on and off with that all-important venting option. The zip-through standup collar gives a nice neck snug, but it folds neatly, if you prefer a lower profile.

How do I use it?

The AFTCO designers clearly considered the life of a fisherman, because the AFGUARD stain release fabric is a nice touch — especially for a more casual garment. The Vista features a DWR (Durable Water Repellant) finish, tapered cuffs, a convenient vertically zippered chest pocket and reflective AFTCO logos, which add a safety element for those who might want to wear this while jogging or cycling. Built for an active fit, the Vista is available in sizes S-2XL, the Vista comes in three colors.

Angler’s insight:

There’s always that fine line between full-on hooded sweatshirt days and those days when you just need a little something to cut the morning chill. Even when I wear an outer jacket, I usually like to wear some type of warm mid layer underneath, because when the mid-morning sun starts the baking process, I can shed the heavy shell and still remain comfy if air temperatures remain nippy. The Vista’s gonna fill this role nicely.
