Beyond the advantages of a small-profile wake bait with distance capability, I discovered two different applications for this unique lure.
First, just cast and crank with a steady retrieve. Do that and the bait presents a noticeably different level of erratic action that gets attention around open-water schooling bass.
I also discovered this unique lure’s capabilities in shallow water. What initially began as an experiment revealed its value as a search and reaction lure for inactive bass. At short range I added a rod twitch, pause and retrieve cadence for successfully calling bass out of near-shore structure and specifically isolated wood and grass edges.
The bottom line is the Stick Crawler gives bass a different look with a wake bait, while excelling in open water and shallow-water cover.
