WHAT IS IT?

Buzbe Basic Deep Urchin Box

WHAT SETS IT APART?

Buzbe’s innovation in the fastest-growing segment of the bass fishing market earned ICAST’s Best of Show award for the Tackle Management Category. Answering the call for urchin-friendly storage, the U.S.-based manufacturer created a sturdy container that offers an easily customizable design. Buzbe covers this storage box with a shatterproof, clear plastic lid that facilitates quick identification. Sun protective additives further the security by blocking UV rays, while an airtight gasket keeps out water and dust.

HOW DO I USE IT?

Buzbe’s key design feature is the patent-pending lock-in dividers with 316 stainless steel posts. Remove a divider, slide an urchin onto the post for a vertical posture and then place the divider into one of the molded slots within the box. Made of military grade plastic with 316 stainless steel hinge and latch trim, the latches feature a quick pop design that opens with a simple pull. Buzbe also included a locking hole for a padlock or other security device to protect your baits. The size 15 box holds eight urchins and the size 28 holds 12.

ANGLER’S INSIGHT:

The urchin landscape lacks not for options and, while price points ranging from get-what-ya-pay-for to weep-when-you-lose-it allow everyone to participate in the latest craze, serious anglers tend to invest in the good stuff. Understandably, urchin protection is taken very seriously by those with something to lose. That’s why great care is given to preventing material contamination by keeping elastomer and plastisol baits segregated, while also keeping baits in a suspended posture that avoids tentacle crimping.
