Pasquotank early morning flyover

Some anglers got two hours more fishing time while others were making the long run.

It’s 6:40 a.m. on Day 1 of the Maxam Tire Bassmaster Elite on Pasqutoank River … and the surrounding Albemarle Sound.
In the background I could hear the sound of outboards piloted by most of the field headed west for rivers like the Chowan.
The estimated running time from downtown Elizabeth City to those destinations was over two hours.
Meanwhile, about a dozen boats chose otherwise, instead opting to remain in the Pasquotank River.
That gave them at least two hours more early morning fishing time.
We ran the length of the river and half of those boats stopped to fish this railroad bridge.
The remainder passed through and headed north to points beyond.
In this gallery I flew from one end of the river to the other, ending near the Dismal Swamp.
