Mosley and Cook’s Semifinal Saturday showdown

Mosley settles into his first spot of the morning, tossing around a chatterbait along the banks.
Brock Mosley and Drew Cook dominate semifinal Saturday at the 2022 Guaranteed Rate Bassmaster Elite at Chickamauga Lake.
Mosley starts off quick with an early catch.
A short fish, but a good sign.
He is making plenty of casts, while being careful not to fish too fast.
His trusted spot is proving consistent so far, just looking for the right size.
This area has plenty of cover, and Mosley is taking extra time on each peice of structure.
As Mosley turns to keep moving, he notices a swirl in the water. He makes a throw at it, and hooks up.
And it’s a good one.
A rush of motivation for Mosley and a solid early start as he lands the fish in the boat.
This fish brings Mosley up to third place unofficially on BASSTrakk.
In the livewell it goes.
Mosley gives us a peak of his shirt, explaining it all.
And it’s back to fishing.
Mosley has dedicated his morning to this creek arm. It isn’t the largest area, but it keeps producing with every circle he makes.
A short ways down the back stretch, he hooks up on another.
But this one doesn’t help his cause.
Mosley continues to target and pick apart each peice of structure in this area. Spending five plus minutes on larger structures.
He makes a few lure changes, but not often.
This lure change proved to be a good decision as he hooks up on another.
And this one will keep.
After a few more casts and some local pressure, Mosley decides to make a move. With a few fish in the livewell, he’s still on the top ten on BASSTrakk and looking to climb the ladder.
Later in the afternoon, we caught up with Drew Cook fishing a similar pattern.
Upon our arrival, Cook expresses his disbelief at the sleet and snow coming down in April.
Cook is fishing a little slower, spending a lot of time and making multiple flips on each peice of structure.
It didn’t take long into our arrival for Cook to hook up.
And this one is a good keeper.
After the catch, he spends more time picking apart this laydown.
He finishes out fishing the rest of this area without much luck, but still plenty of time to fish. He hasn’t filled his limit yet, therefore there is still work to be done.
Stay tuned to see how these two play out on semifinal Saturday of the Guaranteed Rate Bassmaster Elite at Chickimauga Lake.
