Livesay’s slow Day 1

Lee Livesay is our returning champion from 2021 on Chickamauga Lake.
Livesay said he had a pretty good practice; and he was excited about what today was going to bring.
Livesay didn’t go very far from the blast off location before starting on his first spot. After spending a little time on hole one, he quickly realized that something was different from practice. “They just aren’t here,” he stated.
One thing that Livesay was worried about was all the fishing pressure from the Bassmaster Elite field and especially local pressure. He wasn’t surprised when he got to stop number two and he found that there were multiple anglers already there. It also didn’t help that he saw Brock Mosely boat a 5-pounder as he idled past him. The fish in that area were super shallow, which made them super spooky. So Livesay decided to go with a jig. He said he wanted something slow and stealthy. After spending most of the morning there, and only having one short fish, he decided to head down south.
“Finally, finally, I got one,” he said out loud. Livesay hooked into a decent-sized 5-pounder. He said, “I think they are a lot shallower than I thought.” He started to put a small limit together.
Stop number three resulted in the same exact outcome, nothing. After covering a lot of water, he had only accumulated two small fish. Frustrated and desperate just to get a limit, Livesay decided to head back to the area where he had spent most of the morning. He was hoping they had turned on.
