Inside Elite Boats: Jay Przekurat

Take an inside look at Jay Przekurat's tournament rig for the 2025 season!

Jay Przekurat has been on a tear during the 2025 Progressive Bassmaster Elite Series season. Through seven Elite events, the Wisconsin pro is leading the Progressive Bassmaster Angler of the Year race.
Przekurat has done his damage out of his Nitro Z20 XL powered by a 250-horsepower Mercury Pro XS outboard.
His Nitro is loaded with Garmin products, starting with the Garmin Force Pro Trolling Motor at the bow of the boat.
The Force is home to his Garmin LiveScope transducer.
Two Garmin graphs are mounted vertically at the bow. One primarily used for LiveScope and the other for mapping.
A Garmin GPSMAP 8616xsv is the graph that Przekurat uses for LiveScope while the 126sv is used for mapping.
A look at the layout of the Nitro Z20 XL – plenty of storage.
Przekurat has the boat loaded down with Lew’s combos at all times.
The deep rod lockers of the Z20 XL allows the Wisconsin pro to carry a large assortment of rods.
Przekurat pulls out a staple that rarely leaves the boat – a Texas-rigged Strike King Rage Bug.
This bait was a player at the Lake Tenkiller Elite.
Przekurat moves to the main storage compartment that holds the majority of his tackle.
The Evolution Fishing Big Bait Bag is a product that the former Rookie of the Year loves for storing his glidebaits.
Not only does the Big Bait Bag keep each bait protected, it also folds up nicely to take up less room in the boat and maximize space.

“In my opinion this is the best way to store your big baits,” he said. “I tuck it in the front of the compartment, and it leaves a ton of space for other tackle.”

The next box he pulls out is the trusty jig box.
Przekurat has his jigs neatly organized by color, weight and head design.
Pretty, pretty!
“You can tell that the Strike King Structure Jig is my favorite jig,” he said. “If I had to pick, my all-time favorite would be a 3/8-ounce Structure Jig in Blue Craw.”
The Evolution Fishing Line Wrangler is a must have in Przekurat’s boat.
A sliding tray is full of Strike King Plastics for convenience. He likes to keep baits he knows he will need throughout the day stocked up in the tray.
For storing specific soft plastics, Przekurat utilizes the Evolution Fishing Bass Sacks. The Strike King Rage Menace is a bait that always has a place in his boat.
“I literally use the Menace on everything,” he said. “I’ll use it as a trailer on vibrating jigs, swim jigs and any other type of jig.”
Next up is his box full of treble hooks.
He keeps his treble hooks nicely organized by style, size and application – making it easy to replace before derby day.
The starboard side locker is full of more soft plastics and a few miscellaneous items.
Przekurat keeps his Nitro cooler stocked with drinks.
Never know when you might want to play a little music.
Przekurat takes a seat at the wheel of his Z20 XL.
The console is home to two more Garmin 126sv units. One is typically used for mapping while the other is for 2D sonar and side view.
In between the two seats is a compartment where he stores a wide variety of different items.
Amongst those items is his lucky charm – the squishy fish.
A look inside the livewells.
The compartment behind the cockpit holds more soft plastics as well as a tool box.
Safe to say that Przekurat stores plenty of soft plastics in the boat.
The compartment behind the driver’s seat is home to a number of items, including his Whitewater Rainsuit.
A look into the battery well.
Przekurat relies on Dakota Lithium batteries to keep his boat operating with ease.

His shallow-water anchors of choice are Power-Pole Blades.
Thanks for the tour, Jay!
