Inside Classic Boats: Dylan Nutt

Take an inside look into the 2026 Bass Pro Shops Bassmaster Classic presented by Under Armour champion Dylan Nutt's tournament boat.

Welcome to another edition of Inside Elite Boats. This time we are featuring a future Elite who just so happened to win the 2026 Bass Pro Shops Bassmaster Classic presented by Under Armour.
Dylan Nutt’s life has been a complete whirlwind since winning the Super Bowl of Bass Fishing, but he found time to show us around his Classic winning rig.
Nutt has been running the Caymas CX21 powered by a 250-horsepower Yamaha SHO during the 2026 season. “This boat really handles well in rough water, which I’ve really enjoyed,” he said.
The bow of the boat is home to a Power-Pole Move Trolling Motor.
A look at the head of the trolling motor.
The Move had been through it recently after a shallow water beatdown on his nearby home lake — Pickwick Lake.
Nutt has two Garmin LVS34 transducers mounted on the shaft of his Move. When he is fishing B.A.S.S. events he takes one of the transducers off the trolling motor per the rules.

Nutt utilizes the Garmin 8616 Unit (top) solely for his LiveScope and the Lowrance HDS12 (bottom right) for mapping as well as some 2D sonar. When not fishing B.A.S.S. events, he likes to use the Garmin ECHOMAP Ultra 2 126sv unit (bottom left) for Perspective Mode.

Nutt keeps the rod locker stuffed to the brim with a wide variety of different combos.
“I generally keep 25 to 30 rods in the rod locker,” he said. “A lot of times I travel for multiple different tournaments at a time, so I like to keep as many rods in here as I can.”
A look into the center compartment.
The center storage compartment features a variety of different types of tackle.
He pulls out one of his favorite baits that he keeps in the boat at all times — the Scottsboro Tackle Top Hook Swimbait.
“This swimbait is super versatile anytime you’re fishing offshore,” he said. “The main reason I keep it in my boat at all times is because you can make super long casts with it and cover a lot of water.”
On to the Bassmaster Classic winning bait.

Another bag that Nutt always keeps in the boat is a bag full of plastic worms.
The Berkley Magnum Hit Worm is his go-to choice. “I find myself needing an extra bite or two pretty often, and this worm is always the one I find myself reaching for with a shaky head, a Neko rig or even a Carolina rig.”
The Classic champ pulls out a terminal box that is full of his hooks.
“This particular box is full of my worm hooks, EWG hooks and some straight-shank flipping hooks,” he said. “I really like storing this stuff in a smaller Plano box because it’s easy to store.”
A look into the day box. The O&L Plastics swimbaits were given to him by a young man at a tournament earlier this year.
A look into the driver’s side rod locker, which is home to a variety of different items, including life jackets, his Simms raingear and some more soft plastics.
“I always store an extra lifejacket or two in here as well as my raingear,” he said. “A lot of times if I have too many rods in the boat, I’ll even slide a couple of rods in this box as well.”
“When you get into the spring and summertime, you’re always going to have pop-up rain storms, so it’s crucial to keep your Simms raingear and boots in the boat at all times.”
A look at his Simms Pro Dry Rain Jacket.
“I always keep the Simms Challenger boots in the boat because I can’t stand my feet getting wet,” he said.

Nutt takes a seat in his office.
At the console, Nutt runs a Humminbird Xplore 12 and a Lowrance HDS 12 unit.
A look at the console of his Caymas.
The Caymas has slots built in for easy access to tools like pliers and scissors.
His Bigs Only Scissors always have a spot in the boat.

The Classic Champ digs into a sneaky side compartment to pull out a couple of lucky charms that he keeps in the boat.
The two most notable lucky charms he keeps in the boat are his Baby Jesus and a hand-carved cross.
“The cross was a Christmas present from my Dad many years ago,” said Nutt. “He gave one to every single member of our family and they’re all slightly different, but each one has the three nails in it that represent the three nails that pinned Jesus to the cross.”
“I was given the Baby Jesus at the Bassmaster Classic which was really special,” he said. “My faith is a huge part of who I am so getting this at the Classic was really awesome.”
He also keeps some extra pairs of Waterland Sunglasses in the boat.
“I always keep extra Waterlands in the boat, but it’s especially important during the spring when the fish are spawning,” he said. “These right here are the MoonPhase frames which are great because they have extra coverage on the side to reduce glare when you’re looking at them.”
Another lucky charm that stays in the cup holder.

The compartment behind the passenger seat is home to more bulk soft plastics.
The compartment behind the driver’s seat is home to more tackle as well as a throw cushion and a rope.

Nutt gets his boat rigged at Sea Clear Power and has full confidence in his entire setup.
He opts for the 10-foot Power-Pole Blades. “It’s my first year running the 10-footers, and I have really fell in love with them.”
A 250-horsepower Yamaha VMAX SHO powers his Caymas. “I have been so impressed with the Yamaha,” he said. “The power that this engine has is truly incredible. Yamaha is known for it’s dependability and that’s exactly what it’s been for me all year.”

The boat tour wouldn’t be complete without flexing the Ray Scott Trophy a little bit.
We even headed to campus to show off the rig and the trophy for a little while.
As one of the B.A.S.S. Nation representatives, it’s also important to Nutt to have Bryan Kerchal’s Fish Whistle in the boat.
Thanks for the tour, Dylan!
