Feider’s final day of practice at Lake Fork

Follow along with Seth Feider on his final day of practice at the Tackle Warehouse Bassmaster Elite at Lake Fork.

With three Top 10s on Lake Fork it’s easy to understand why Vexus pro Seth Feider calls Lake Fork one of his absolute favorite fisheries along with Cayuga, NY and the Mississippi River at La Crosse.
Feider clocks-in at 6:30 a.m. and fires up his electronics for the final day of practice.
It’s barely daylight, but low light is critical and welcomed for fishing the shad spawn bite to begin the day.
Barn swallows swarm the 515 Bridge in Glade Creek and Feider tosses a winged topwater remarking, “Hopefully a 9-pounder mistakes my bait for a baby barn swallow that’s fallen from a nest.”
The 2021 Bassmaster Angler of the Year casts a white swim jig with amazing, seemingly effortless, precision around sea walls.
An old school angler at heart who loves the history of bass fishing, Feider plays show and tell with the ‘softest pork frogs’ you’ll ever find.
Fork is 27,000 acres large but always seems to fish relatively tight – with anglers frequently fishing near to one another.
No bites to be had around what we decide should be called “Stinky Bird Island.”
Perhaps most noteworthy is the incredibly short pitches Feider makes hundreds of – not more than 20-feet from the nose of his Vexus Boat. Sometimes more like 15-feet from the boat.
He’s purposely bent the hook down on his ‘practice day’ swim jig so as not to sting a keeper he’ll come back for in the tournament.
It’s only fitting that the always comical Feider would find Sasquatch.
Feider idles past the official B.A.S.S. tournament venue at world class Caney Point Recreation Area.
A “pesky 2-pounder” gets swung aboard – knowing 30-pound limits are the ultimate goal on Lake Fork.
Whitetails pay no mind to the Minnesota pro.
He finishes the day looking for spawning beds, but there’s always time to tie up one more jig – the lure that perhaps plays most closely to his heart for the sport he loves.
