Pickwick: Day 2 early aerials

Head into the air for an early look at Day 2 of the 2022 Whataburger Bassmaster Elite at Pickwick Lake with Brandon Lester, Matt Robertson and Justin Atkins!

It’s 7:35 a.m. on Friday, June 3, and Brandon Lester had just arrived at his starting spot on Pickwick Lake.
Lester chose to fish in a side channel of the river offering a shallower bottom and isolated wood and rock.
Soon the action began. As this photo was shot, it was fish on for Lester.
Lester had a good fish on, also a good way to start the day.
At 7:38 a.m., Lester weighed a 5-pound largemouth and put it in the livewell at 7:38 a.m.
Lester continued fishing the area to add more weight to his score.
The catch would put him in the BassTrakk lead.
Lester stayed off and away from the shoreline.
Continuing to keep an eye on his forward-facing sonar.
Across the riiver was Matt Robertson, the Day.1 leader.
Robertson and Lester were the first to pass under the Natchez Trace Bridge over Pickwick.
Both anglers fished offshore.
Robertson, like Lester, kept an eye on his forward-facing sonar.

Nearby and downriver was Justin Atkins.
Atkins, like Lester and Robertson was finesse fisbing when this photo was shot.
His tools were a spinning outfit and forward-facing sonar.
Atkins knows the river, and this particular spot in a side channel, as well as anyone.
