Christie’s Championship Sunday charge

Watch as the 2022 Academy Sports + Outdoors Bassmaster Classic presented by Huk champion Jason Christie goes all out on Championship Sunday of the Guaranteed Rate Bassmaster Elite at Chickamauga Lake.
When blast off happened on the morning of Day 4, there was no fog anywhere to be found. Little did anyone know that only a few miles away, Jason Christie would run into one of the thickest fog banks of the year.  The fog may have been a hindrance; but it made for great fishing.  Christie caught his biggest fish of the day and several other keepers before the fog lifted.
Day 1
Christie thought he needed about 20 pounds to even have chance; so he quickly would skip parts of the docks to get to other areas of the docks that typically held more fish.
The pattern today for Christie was pretty simple, fish shallow, throw a chatterbait on the bank, and throw a jig on wood.
Christie said that he had high confidence in docks that had rock around them.
Christie mentioned that anytime you sea a heron on the bank, that means bait is near by, which means fish are nearby.
A balance beam is an absolute necessity in tournament fishing.  It is a quick and easy way to see which fish is bigger when they are close to the same size.
As the day warmed, Christie went shallow. He knew that the dirty water would warm quick, and the big fish would start getting even shallower. Following Christie was difficult. At times he was so shallow that if he got off plane, he would bottom out. At times he was in less than one foot of water. Every time Christie would go to his next stop, there would be a mid trial for hundreds of yards.
