Chilly day on Chickamauga with Jocumsen

Going into Day 2 of the Guaranteed Rate Bassmaster Elite on Chickamauga Lake, Carl Jocumsen found himself sitting in first place.
Carl’s first spot of the day is where he felt that he could catch an easy 5 fish limit.  There are not many big ones there he said; but there are a lot of male bass bunched up.  On Day 1, Carl caught all of his big fish on a custom glide bait.  He did cast the glide on his first spot to see if there were any bigger fish; but only small fish kept bumping it.
Since the glide bait was not working, Carl said that he was going to try a chatterbait to at least get his five fish limit quick, and then head out to bust some big ones.
Carl had been catching his bigger fish on shallow blowdowns using his glide bait; so that is what he tried for hours with little luck.
After not having hardly any luck on blowdowns, Carl decided to try fishing some docks.  The dock pattern quickly almost paid off. Almost because he lost a 5 pounder at the boat when his swimbait snap came open; and his five pounder swam away with a very unique and expensive bait in his mouth.
