Aerial view of habitat in play over Marion

Vegetation is back and flourishing in the Santee-Cooper Lakes.

it’s Thursday, May 14 and Day 1 of the Yokohama Tire Bassmaser Elite at Santee Cooper Lakes.
Takeoff time for this flight was 7 a.m. or 30 minutes after the official start.
My flight plan and goal was to find areas where the vegetation is once again flourishing on Lake Marion.
Chris Zaldain said it best when he stated spinnerbaits for fishing dingy water in just inches of visibility were no longer required for success. The vegetation will no doubt be a game changer, opening up more patterns and viable lure options.
Vegetation was within several feet of the surface and the water clarity was noticeably clearer.
