Martin’s Day 2 catch at Harris Chain disqualified

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. — B.A.S.S. officials announced today that Scott Martin’s Day 2 catch on April 13, 2024, has been disqualified from the Lowrance Bassmaster Elite at Harris Chain. The decision was handed down by tournament officials after it was determined Martin had violated Rule C14 Permitted Fishing Locations of the Bassmaster Elite Series rules.

Martin said he was made aware on May 4, 2024, after the event’s conclusion, that he violated tournament rules, and he immediately contacted officials to report the violation. Martin stated he fished and kept a fish from an area that addresses “waters deemed off-limits by authorities or tournament officials should be treated like a wall.”

Points and standings will be adjusted accordingly, and Martin is required to pay back winnings of $2,500.
