Topwater action heating up

If you’re bored this morning, head over to Bassmaster LIVE and you won’t be for long.

The bass are starting to explode on topwaters. We saw Gerald Swindle with his boat buried in a mat, getting back to back bites on a frog. As the livestream swapped over to Chris Johnston, we watched him catch smallmouth on three consecutive casts with a Spook, two of them being good ones.

A few of the anglers have remarked how the bass eat a topwater better with sunny and calm conditions here on the Mississippi River. With this shift in conditions and the action we’re seeing so far, looks like they were right.
